  • For the entire month of December we will we working on our research projects.  Everyone got a topic (colonial person) on November 30th.  During the rest of that week, we discussed requirements of the project and how to do research and create a bibliography.  We will be in the library for TWO periods every day from Dec 6-10.  It is very important that students use this time wisely and ask for help if any questions or problems arise.  Homework assignments will be given on several nights to ensure students are making progress; on the other nights students should work on whatever they need to get done.  During the week of Dec 13-17 we will continue to work in the computer lab in history class, and the following must be completed– Powerpoint due 12/14, saved into Ms Thompson’s global folder;  two page paper due 12/17.

  • On Wednesday November 24th we will have an educational class party featuring foods that would have been eaten at the First Thanksgiving, as well as some foods which may be considered traditional Thanksgiving fare today, but would definitely NOT have been consumed at dinner back in 1621!  We are taking up a collection in class to help with the grocery bill for this event~~ please make a donation as you are able!  Anything from a couple of quarters (preferrably from the states representing the original 13 colonies) to a dollar or two or three would be greatly appreciated!  If parents would like to join us for the celebration, just send word in to Ms Thompson ahead of time, be sure you know what time your child’s class meets that day, and sign in at the office when you arrive.
